A couple travel to a strange, snowy city to adopt a baby, who they hope will resurrect their marriage. They check into the deserted Grand Imperial Hotel where they are helped and hampered by the people they meet. But nothing is as it seems, and the longer they endure the freezing cold the less they know about their marriage, themselves, and life itself.
