This book is a systematic comment of the first two books of the Bible: the Genesis and the Exodus. It offers a reading of some issues relevant for to-day economic and social life.The Western Humanism has its own founding cultural and symbolic codes. One of these is the Bible, which has provided for millennia words to say politics and love, death and economy, hope and doom. The biblical stories were revived and reinterpreted by hundreds of generations, they have filled up our most beautiful works of art and the dreams of children and adults. They made us hope during the many painful times of exile and slavery that we have gone through and are going through still.Among the books of the Bible, the Genesis and the Exodus, that in both Jewish and Christian tradition are the first two books, are the really foundation of the biblical theology and anthropology, but in them we find also the roots of the culture of market, money, exchange, that will flouring during the middle-age and then forming during the modernity the 'spirit of capitalism' (Max Weber) or the 'religion of capitalism' (Walter Bejanim).The book examines the Biblical foundations for a conception of social relations and offers new insights for the present economic and social discourse.
