Although tannery industry has been recognized as a major industry of great economic importance internationally, yet there are certain issues related with its methods and processes which make this industry not very desirable at sustainability scale. With respect to environment pollution, chromium laden tannery sludge and effluent are the two major polluting components which are the matter of concern.
