'>Small bishops< in the Holy Roman Empire. Structural pressures, scope for action and social practices in change (1200-1600)': The historical research so far judges, that the >small bishops< with only low remunerated bishoprics were virtually meaningless in the late medieval Holy Roman Empire. The detailed studies collected in this volume reflect on this opinion and inquire the structural pressures of these actors, their scope for action and the social practices for improving their own positions. Amongst others, it is demonstrated, that even supposed >small bishops< could be surprisingly big on a regional level.
