What does science contribute to vocational education and training (VET) in practice? How

should projects, programmes, and political strategies be further developed? The aim of

evaluation, design research, and impact research is to analyse conditions for the development of projects, programmes, pilot projects, or system reforms. Implementation processes

are accompanied systematically and in a researchled manner. Effects of interventions are

identified and attributed to their causes. The VET research network (AG BFN) dedicates this

volume to evaluation and impact research in VET. New trends, concepts, and methods are

addressed.
