'The Great Elector Frederick William of Brandenburg-Prussia (1620-1688): An Early Modern Ruler in a Composite Monarchy'



Frederick William, the so-called Great Elector of Brandenburg (1620-1688), counts among the most famous rulers of Brandenburg-Prussia: The 16th of February 2020 will be his 400th anniversary. Research on his life and agency has a traditional and important place in the historiography of Brandenburg-Prussia. This book combines nine independent studies which have been published in different academic volumes or journals and one article published for the first time.
