Debendra Mohan Bose is one of the very few Indian physicists who had the privilege of studying in U.K. and Germany. He worked in the laboratory of J.J. Thomson, the discoverer of the electron. In Berlin his PhD examiners were Max Planck and Heinrich Rubens. He improved the Wilson's Cloud Chamber and observed H- and Gamma particles. His fields of research were magnetic properties of chemical substances, cosmic rays, nuclear physics and plant physiology. In scientific literature some of his works are named after him like "Bose Effect", "Bose Theory", "Bose-Stoner Theory" or "Welo-Bose Rule." In the present work it has been attempted to explore his scientific work and its recognition by the international scientific community.
