Mira finds summer work at Juniper Island Wilderness Lodge in the Alaskan wilds. Run by Maureen and her gregarious husband Lew, it sells its international guests a fantasy - a taste of life on the untamed frontier. But the beauty of the landscape conceals a mess of conflicting desires and, as Mira tends her unfulfilled obsessions, the other residents are taking steps that will tear apart this seeming paradise.
