While Open Access has been the norm in the scientific publication landscape of some disciplines for some time, the humanities and social sciences still have reservations and little experience with it. Authors seek advice on their rights and financial support, libraries make demands on indexing and traceability, and publishers are also experimenting with new business models. In the BMBF-funded project OGeSoMo, the OA publication of numerous volumes was tested in practice in cooperation with selected publishers, partners of the University Alliance Ruhr and expert representatives. Results and further considerations are examined from various perspectives in this anthology.
